Kaushal vikas diwas celebrated in Kulgam

KULGAM, MAY 06:  A function was held here today at Town Plaza to celebrate Ajeevika Evam Kaushal Vikas Diwas aimed at increasing the reach of rural households to livelihoods and skill development schemes of the Government.

Rural Self Employment Training Institute Kulgam in collaboration with J&K Bank, LEAD Bank Kulgam organized the function wherein District Development Commissioner Sajad Hussain attended as the chief guest.

ACD Kulgam Hilal Ahmad, Cluster Head J&K Bank Muhammad Shafi Salroo, LEAD Bank District Manager Kulgam Ghulam Rasool Mir and Director RSETI Bashir Ahmad Bhat and other concerned were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that in skill development RSETI and other institutions are playing a key role in making unemployed people self- reliant by providing them with technical know-how and requisite training.

The DDC also inaugurated the induction of a new training batch of 30 candidates for cell phone services and repairs and distributed certificates to the trainees of outgoing batch of 35 candidates. He also handed over credit sanction letters to candidates who completed their training to start their business units.

The Vikas diwas was also celebrated by NRLM block Kulgam where the DDC was apprised about the success stories of SHGs.

On the occasion, DDC directed bank authorities to create bank accounts of those trainees who haven’t opened it yet. He also directed them to ensure these trainees get easy access to bank loans after completion of training for setting up their business units.

Similar functions were held at D.H.Pora and Devsar as well.
