Army holds inter school sports, cultural meet

Srinagar: An Inter School Sports and Cultural Meet comprising of various activities was conducted by the Army for the students of Tangmarg and the prize distribution ceremony for the same was held at Ziran on 03 May 2018.

The ceremony was graced by Farooq Ahmed Shah, Secretary Education (J&K), GOC Dagger Division, Director Education (Kashmir), Gulam Nabi Itoo and other imminent dignitaries and Army officials.

Sports kits, trophies, medals and certificates were distributed as prizes to the winners of various competitions and a cultural programe was also organised by the students of various schools including the Rahatghar Orphanage.

Speaking on the occasion, Farooq Ahmed Shah extended his appreciation to the Army for taking such an initiative to give a platform to the students of the region to showcase their talents. The participants and teachers also expressed their gratitude as the competition will further help to develop the all round personality of the youth of Tangmarg region, a defense spokesman said in a statement issued today.
