Srinagar/New Delhi: Four new cases of Covid 19 were reported from Jammu and Kashmir today taking the total number of positive cases to 454032, officials said.

They said that three cases were reported from Kashmir division and one from Jammu division.

Jammu district reported one fresh case, Srinagar reported two cases and Kupwara reported one case, the officials said, adding no new case was reported from rest of 17 districts of the UT.

Out of 454032 positive cases, 65 are active positive, (42 in Jammu and 23 in Kashmir division), while as 449216 infected people have recovered, said the officials.

They said that the death toll due to corona virus remained 4751 – 2328 in Jammu and 2423 in Kashmir division.

The officials further said that with 5,774 doses of Covid vaccine administered in the last 24 hours, the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K stands at 2,26,81,376.

Meanwhile, India logged 3,377 new COVID-19 infections taking the country’s total tally of cases to 4,30,72,176, while the active cases rose to 17,801, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday.

The death toll climbed to 5,23,753 with 60 fresh fatalities, the data updated  at 8 am stated.

The active cases comprise 0.04 percent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.74 percent, the ministry said.  An increase of 821 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

The daily positivity rate was recorded as 0.71 percent and the weekly positivity rate as 0.63 percent, according to the ministry.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,25,30,622, while the case fatality rate was  1.22 percent.

The cumulative doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive has exceeded 188.65 crore.
