Srinagar: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on Friday welcomed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to J&K.

In a statement issued here, Khurshid Dar Head CII J&K and Ladakh said: “His decision to celebrate the National Panchayati Raj day in J&K signifies the commitment of the Government of India towards development of J&K.”

“We have witnessed continuous visits of different ministers and officials of Government of India in recent times on the instructions of Hon’ble Prime Minister and we are thankful to his personal intervention for the overall development and welfare of J&K,” Dar said.

“The Industrial package of Rs 28400 Crores announced last year has evinced the interest of investors not only from across India but many from different countries. Results of continuous push by the Government of India and administration of J&K is seeing these efforts materialise into reality of actual investments on ground with the ground breaking of many of these investments by the Hon’ble Prime Minister today,” he said.

“The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)  in its role as the National Partner of Government of J&K in its endeavours to attract investments to J&K has been promoting this cause continuously and we will continue our efforts to realise the dream of a new Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.

Ehsan Javaid Chairman CII J&K Council said “Recent initiatives by the administration of J&K for increasing the power generation potential in J&K, Improving the basic infrastructure, Tourism development, empowerment of youth and women and marginalised sections of the society are giving new hope and opportunity to the people of J&K. There is greater transparency and discipline in administration and pro people steps are initiated on different levels from time to time. It is these steps which has also motivated so many youngsters to plan their investments in J&K and existing industries to plan their expansion.”

“CII J&K Council consisting eminent industrialists from both the regions of Jammu and Kashmir lauds the efforts of J&K Administration under the leadership of Hon’ble LG Shri Manoj Sinha ji which has been able to efficiently put together a roadmap to realise the dream of Hon’ble Prime Minister,” he added.
