Will develop J&K on New Delhi pattern if voted to power, says AAP’s Kashmir convener
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Friday said the party if voted to power will develop Jammu and Kashmir on ‘New Delhi pattern’ as successive regimes including BJP, NC, PDP and Congress have “betrayed people” of the erstwhile state for their vested political interests.

Addressing a press conference at AAP head office at Rajbagh, the party convener for Kashmir province, Nasir Ali Kochak said the party has been able to form a strong base in Jammu and Kashmir over the past one year and its sole agenda is to develop the Union Territory on New Delhi’s pattern.

“AAP belongs to the people and is committed to the development of Jammu and Kashmir. We would like to assure people that J&K would be developed on the New Delhi pattern as we don’t believe in politics of egotism like that of NC, PDP, Congress and BJP,” said Kochak, adding that “these parties have always betrayed people for their vested political interests.”

He also said the major challenge Jammu and Kashmir faces at the moment is unemployment and the Aam Aadmi Party is committed to address this issue on priority.

Kochak said the rising unemployment that previous governments miserably failed to address has broken the back of educated youth of Jammu and Kashmir.

Another party functionary Raqib-ul-Rashid while taking a jibe on BJP for allegedly playing ‘politics of hatred and communalism’ said the party knows nothing other than stirring up the communal discord.

He said the BJP has miserably failed to control skyrocketing prices of petroleum products and now blames the Russia and Ukraine war for the back-breaking price rise.

“Actually BJP lacks economists; they don’t know ABC of economics — hence the price-rise is obvious. We know the price of crude oil has increased but the same could be controlled if excise duty is lessened,” he added.
