Srinagar: Fire was reported from the forests of North Kashmir’s Khuihama Forest range in Bandipora area, late Tuesday evening spreading rapidly in the range.
Sources said that panic gripped the entire area as high flames in the forest range could be seen from various nearby villages including from main Bandipora town.
Unconfirmed reports said that authorities and the concerned department launched a late night operation to douse the flames and also evacuated people from two nearby villages of Dardgund and Dobhan for safety.
