J&K logs 12 new cases of COVID-19

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir has logged 12 new positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19),  in the last 24 hours even as no fresh virus-related death was reported from anywhere in the UT, officials said Thursday.

They informed that six each of the fresh cases were reported from Jammu and Kashmir divisions, taking the total number of positive cases detected so far in the UT to 4,53,505.

Officials also informed that 19 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 13 from Jammu division and six from Kashmir.

No new case of Mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today, they said.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 40,179 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered so far across J&K to 2,17,73,394.

According to the bulletin, out of 4,53,505 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 156 active positive cases in the UT, including 106 in Kashmir and 50 in Jammu division, while 4,48,599 persons have recovered and 4,750 have died – 2,423 in Kashmir division and2,327 in Jammu division.

Providing district-wise breakup for positive cases reported today, the bulletin informed that Srinagar reported four fresh cases, Budgam and Anantnag reported one new case each while as Baramulla, Kupwara, Pulwama, Bandipora Kulgam, Ganderbal and Shopian reported no fresh cases today.

Similarly, Jammu reported three new cases, Doda reported two fresh cases and Kishtwar reported one new case while as Rajouri, Ramban, Poonch, Kathua, Reasi, Samba and Udhampur reported no fresh cases today.
