CII J&K elects Ehsan Javaid as Chairman, Archit Puri as Vice Chairman

Srinagar: Syed Ehsan Javaid, MD & CEO of Golden Apple has been elected Chairman, and Archit Puri, Director PBI India Ltd has been elected as Vice-Chairman of CII J&K Council for the year 2022-23. 

Ehsan Javaid is a first-generation Agri-tech entrepreneur, having his footprint in both pre- and post-harvest infrastructure for horticultural produce in J&K. He has started Golden Apple Argo Pvt Ltd, one of the first post-harvest controlled atmospheric cold chain facilities for fruits in south Kashmir. Besides setting up multiple processing units under the post-harvest segment, Ehsan through Golden Agrisence Pvt Ltd went on to bring the latest European technology in the pre-harvest sector for high-density apple plantation which has since had a game-changing effect on the production of apple crops in J&K. A lawyer by education, Ehsan was the Founding President of Processing Cold Chain Association of J&K (JKPICCA) and currently, a member of the J&K Kissan Advisory Board set up by the J&K Government.

Archit Puri is the Director of PBI India Pvt. Ltd., which is a leading food product manufacturing company. The company is the proprietor and promotor of the brand “P Mark”. He joined PBI India in 2011 and ever since has been instrumental in building and leading the company successfully. PBI India is into flour milling and manufactures wheat flour, multipurpose flour, semolina, porridge, and bran. Archit earned a Computer Engineering degree from The University of Manchester, United Kingdom. He was key in building the foundation of the Indian Society as it is in the university today. He also led the Administration and Accommodation Student body organization as the Vice President. He is a technologist at heart with a strong focus on a results-oriented approach, and a people person.
