Baramulla: Boat capsizes in Jhelum, 3 feared dead

Baramulla, May 02: Search operation by State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Navy Marcos, police and Army continues for second day to fish out the bodies of three youth  who had drowned after a boat capsized on Tuesday in river Jehlum near Uri bus stand in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Search operation by navy divers and SDRF personnel to trace the bodies continued till late afternoon today without any success, an official said.

While two youth identified as Junaid and Azaan were rescued immediately after the boat capsized yesterday, three others — Anzar Wani, Shahid and Tufail are feared dead.

Panic has gripped the town following the incident and hundreds of people today thronged the banks of river, as police, Navy and Army boats were carrying out searches for the drowned youth.
