Two burglars arrested in Bandipora

Srinagar: Police on Tuesday informed that two persons have been arrested for burglary in Bandipora district of north Kashmir.

Police spokesman in a statement informed that on March 06, Police Station Bandipora received a complaint from one Mohammad Hamza Lone, son of Ayat Mohammad Lone, resident of MehoobulAlam Colony, Kaloosa Bandipora, stating that some thieves have barged inside his house and have stolen goods worth lakhs of rupees.

Accordingly, a case (FIR No. 34/2022)  was registered and during investigation many suspects were rounded up for questioning.

After zeroing in on and sustained questioning, two suspects — Sameer Ahmad Sheikh, son of Riyaz Ahmad Sheikh; and Zameer Ahmad Akhoon, son of Zahoor Ahmad Akhoon, both residents of Kaloosa Bandipora — confessed their involvement in the theft. They were arrested and shifted to a police station where they remain in custody, police said.

On their disclosure, stolen items including golden jewellery, copper utensils, LED television, crockery items and other goods valuing lakhs of rupees were recovered from their possession, police spokesman informed.
