The officials said the operations resumed on Thursday afternoon.

They said the visibility at the airport improved from about 800 metres in the morning to about 1,500 metres in the afternoon, leading to the commencement of the operations.

Director Srinagar International Airport, Kuldeep Singh said that 38 flights operated today while eight were cancelled, adding that the passengers of the cancelled flights will be accommodated in next available flights of the concerned airlines.

The Kashmir Valley received heavy snowfall on Wednesday. It was this season’s heavy snowfall in the plains that threw life out of gear and led to the disruption of flight operations.

All the flights at the Srinagar airport were cancelled on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Traffic Police Headquarters, J&K has informed that Light Motor Vehicls (LMVs) would be allowed to play on both sides of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on Thursday.

“TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall liasise with TCU Ramban bfore releasing the traffic,” said the advisory.

It said that cut off timing for LMVs from Nagrota will be 0600 hrs to 1200 hours, from Jakheni Udhampur at 0700 to 1300 hrs and from Navyug Tunnel Qazigund side at 0600 to 1200 hrs.
