Srinagar: The J&K National Conference General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar on Wednesday stated that women’s political participation besides being a human right was also a key to thriving democracy and that NC traditionally and frontally worked to end gender bias.

Addressing a women’s wing meeting here at Nawai Subh party headquarters in Srinagar, Sagar stressed over the significant role played by the NC’s women’s wing functionaries, delegates, and workers for upholding and rallying around the party flag during the most trying times. Provincial President Women’s Wing Kashmir Sabiya Qadri was also present.

Sagar said the cornerstone of the development programme of the party was to empower the youth of J&K. “The party had always prioritised implementing gender-neutral, youth-focused policies and programmes. It is our duty to strengthen the efforts of Farooq Sahab and Omar Sahab. By the grace of Almighty and with the active participation of youth, we will be able to push the youth of J&K to safer shores,” he said.
