Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday reported 314 positive cases of novel coronavirus while no virus-related death was reported in the last 24 hours, officials said.

They said of the fresh cases, 188 were reported from Jammu division and 126 from Kashmir.

Moreover, they said 937 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 492 from Kashmir and 445 from Jammu division in the last 24 hours.

No new case of Mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today, officials said.

On vaccination, the officials said that 44,564 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered so far across J&K to 2,12,01,562.

They said that out of 4,51,330 positive cases recorded cumulatively across J&K so far, currently there are 4,280 active positive cases in the UT including 2,429 in Kashmir and 1,851 in Jammu division, while as 4,42,305 persons have recovered and 4,745 have died – 2,422 in Kashmir division and 2,323 in Jammu division.

Providing district-wise breakup, the officials said that Srinagar reported 63 cases, Baramulla 10 cases, Budgam 22 cases, Pulwama 03 cases, Kupwara 13 cases, Anantnag 05 cases, Bandipora 01case, Ganderbal 06cases,Kulgam 03cases while as Shopian reported no fresh today.

In Jammu division, Jammu district reported 67 cases, Reasi 01case, Udhampur 14 cases, Rajouri 09 cases, Doda 52cases, Kathua 20 cases, Samba 09 cases, Kishtwar 06 cases and Ramban reported 10 fresh case, officials said.

Shopian district in Kashmir division and Poonch district in Jammu division reported no fresh cases on Tuesday, the officials said.

Active COVID-19 cases in country decline to 4,23,127

New COVID-19 cases in India were recorded below 30,000 after 44 days, taking the virus tally to 4,26,92,943, while the active cases dipped to 4,23,127, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Tuesday.

The death toll climbed to 5,09,358 with 347 fresh fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated.

The daily COVID-19 cases have been recorded less than one lakh for nine consecutive days.

The active cases comprise 0.99 percent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has further improved to 97.82 percent, the ministry said.

A reduction of 55,755 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

The daily positivity rate was recorded as 2.23 percent while the weekly positivity rate was 3.63 percent, according to the ministry.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,17,60,458 while the case fatality rate was recorded as 1.19 percent.

The cumulative doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive has exceeded 173.42 crore.
