Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday reported 540 new positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and two more related deaths.

Of the fresh cases, 312 were reported from Jammu division and 228 from Kashmir while as both the fresh deaths were also reported from the Valley, officials said.

Moreover, they said 1,626 COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 944 from Kashmir and 682 from Jammu division in the last 24 hours.

District Jammu reported the highest number of positive cases (131) on Friday followed by Srinagar district (89).

Minimum positive cases were reported from Kishtwar (01) and Shopian district (05) while as Poonch and Kulgam districts reported 06 cases each.

Officials said that Baramulla reported 29 cases, Budgam 32 cases, Pulwama 12 cases, Kupwara 26 cases, Anantnag and Bandipora 07 cases each and Ganderbal 15 fresh cases today.

In Jammu division, Reasi reported 12 cases, Udhampur 22 cases, Rajouri 09 cases, Doda 61 cases, Kathua 27 cases, Samba 07 cases while as Ramban reported 36 fresh cases today.

No new case of Mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today, they said.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 52,605 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K so far to 2,10,39,088.

According to the bulletin, out of 4,49,873 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 7,424 active positive cases across the UT, including 4,506 in Kashmir and 2,918 in Jammu division, while as 4,37,708 persons have recovered and 4,741 have died – 2,421 in Kashmir and 2,320 in Jammu division.
