J&K reports 9 Covid deaths; 1151 fresh cases

Srinagar: The number of fresh Covid 19 positive cases has further declined as Jammu and Kashmir reported 1151 new cases – 511 from Jammu division and 640 from Kashmir division, on Sunday while as nine infection related deaths were also reported, officials said.

They said that five deaths were reported from Jammu and four from Kashmir division.

The officials said that with today’s new cases, the total number of positive cases has reached to 446648.

“Out of these positive cases, 17412 are active positive (5698 in Jammu division and 11714 in Kashmir division), 424521 have recovered and 4715 have died – 2307 from Jammu and 2408 from Kashmir division,” officials said.

Srinagar reported the maximum number of fresh cases (197) followed by Jammu district (168) while as Kishtwar district reported the minimum number of cases (01) followed by Poonch (06).

Baramulla reported 54 cases, Budgam 116 cases, Pulwama 38 cases, Kupwara 62 cases, Anantnag 63 cases, Bandipora 22 cases, Ganderbal 28 cases, Kulgam 48 cases while as Shopian reported 12 fresh cases today, officials said.

They said that Reasi reported 52 cases, Udhampur 63 cases, Rajouri 11cases, Doda 117 cases, Kathua 32 cases, Samba 25 cases and Ramban reported 36 fresh cases today.

The officials said that no new case of Mucormycosis was reported today, thus the total number of confirmed cases remain 51 across J&K.

That said that with 21,158 doses of COVID vaccine administered in the last 24 hours, the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K has reached 2,07,55,315.

 

“With the decline in the number of daily Covid-19 positive cases, the administration has decided that there would be no weekend lockdown in Jammu and Kashmir. However, night curfew for non-essential movement shall continue.”
