Ayushman Divas under Gram Swaraj Abhiyan observed at Baramulla

BARAMULLA, APRIL 30: District administration Baramulla today observed Ayushman Divas as part of recently launched Gram Swaraj Abhiyan. In this connection, a grand function was today organized by Chief Medical Officer Baramulla in collaboration with Block Medical Officer Sheeri at Dak Bungalow Baramulla which witnessed the participation of a huge gathering of the public.

District Development Commissioner, Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash was the chief guest whereas Chief Medical Officer Dr Bashir Ahmad Chalkoo, Dy CMO Dr Jozi Bashir, Block Medical officer Sheeri Dr Farooq, DEIMO Ghulam Rasool Bhat and officers from various departments were also present on the occasion.

Pertinent to mention that Ayushman Bharat is a National Health Protection Scheme to cover 10 crore poor and vulnerable families comprising approximately 50 crore beneficiaries providing coverage upto Rs 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.

Speaking at the event, the DDC impressed for availing the benefits of these schemes which mainly aims at improving the socio-economic development of the society. He stressed for disseminating awareness especially among rural folk besides exhorting upon various officers to play a pivotal role in the regard.

DDC termed better healthcare facilities as his administration’s priority besides terming this index as a vital component of social progress.

Chief Medical Officer Dr Bashir Ahmad Chalkoo said that the department has organized various free medical camps in remote areas of the district so that more and more inclusion of economically downtrodden is ensured. He also briefed about various centrally as well as state-sponsored health-related schemes

Dy CMO who is also the Nodal officer highlighted the various objectives of the scheme and said that need of the hour is to avail benefits from these schemes.
