Srinagar: Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar on Monday visited Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and reviewed security situation there.
A police spokesman said that IGP held a review meeting that attended by senior officers of Army and Police wherein IGP Kashmir instructed Sopore Police to generate actionable inputs and conduct anti-militancy operations along with Army.
He also directed stringent action against drug peddlers in the police district.
Later, the IGP along with DIG South Kashmir and SSP Anantnag visited Hassanpora village of Anantnag to meet the family of head constable, HC Ali MohdGanai, who was killed in a militant attack at his home last week.
The official said that the IGP paid glowing tributes to the deceased police head constable and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
