J&K reports 3,499 fresh Covid cases; six deaths

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 3,499 fresh coronavirus cases on Sunday, taking the infection count to 3,59,373, while six deaths were also reported in the past 24 hours, officials said.

Out of the fresh cases, 1,210 were from the Jammu division and 2,289 from the Kashmir division of the Union Territory, the officials said.

They said Srinagar district recorded a maximum of 614 new cases, followed by 556 cases in Jammu district.

There are 15,883 active coronavirus cases in Jammu and Kashmir, while the number of recoveries stands at 3,38,923, the officials said.

The new fatalities raised the death toll from the pandemic to 4,567 in the Union Territory, they said.

Providing district-wise breakup for positive cases reported today, the officials said that Srinagar reported 614 cases, Baramulla 463 cases, Budgam 404 cases, Pulwama 94 cases, Kupwara 157 cases, Anantnag 230 cases, Bandipora 106 cases, Ganderbal 27 cases, Kulgam 127 cases while as Shopian reported 07 fresh cases.

In Jammu division, Jammu reported 556 cases, Reasi 89 cases, Udhampur 126 cases, Rajouri 39 cases, Doda 20 cases, Kathua 163 cases, Samba 112 cases, Poonch 67 case, Kishtwar 20 cases while as Ramban reported 18 fresh cases.

On COVID vaccination, the officials said that 33,419doses of COVID vaccine have been administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to1,98,57,038.
