Mir has also demanded best treatment for the injured pilgrims in the hospitals and demanded appropriate compensation to the injured persons.

Expressing shock over the incident, he said that the Govt must hold a detailed investigation into the incident and hold the irresponsible officials accountable for their mismanagement due to which the innocent people have lost their lives.

“This approach of administration should not go unpunished and the Govt must make corrective measures so that the pilgrimage should be made more smoother by adopting a rational approach,” he added.

Meanwhile, State General Secretary, Vikram Malhotra also expressed his serious concern over the loss of lives. He questioned the bureaucratic attitude which does not consider the genuine pilgrims and put them to unnecessary suffering.

“The relatives and friends of the influential bureaucrats occupy rooms and prefer facilitating the pilgrimage of their known people and ignore the poor people who come from various places of the country,” he said.

He said that the investigation must be conducted in a detailed manner to root out the officials responsible for the stampede.
