DGP sanctions financial assistance, medical relief for SPOs

Jammu : Director General of Police J&K Dilbag Singh has sanctioned financial assistance of rupees 5 lakh in favour of 19 SPOs.

He also sanctioned a meritorious scholarship of rupees of over 03 lakh in favour of 54 wards of serving police personnel, said a police spokesperson.

“Meritorious scholarship of rupees 7200 each has been sanctioned in favour of 16 wards of serving police personnel who have secured 90% and above marks in the annual examination of class 12th  during the academic session 2020-21. Similarly rupees 6000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 38 wards of serving police personnel who have secured 80%-90% marks in the annual examination of 12th class. The fund is sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare Fund,” the spokesperson said.

“Rupees over 05 lakh have been sanctioned as financial assistance/medical relief in favour of 19 SPOs to meet the expenses in connection with their self treatment and treatment of their dependents. The amount sanctioned was provided out of the SPOs Contributory Fund and Police Pariwar Fund,” he said.

“Police headquarters under different welfare schemes is providing welfare relief/loan, financial assistance to all the ranks of Jammu and Kashmir Police including the wards of martyr/deceased police personnel and SPOs. It is pertinent to mention that during the current year over rupees 1.57 crore have been sanctioned as meritorious scholarship in favour of wards of serving police persons. Besides over rupees 21 lakh has been sanctioned as financial assistance/medical relief in favour of SPOs,” he added.
