DC Sgr chairs RTA meeting to finalise route planning for electric buses

SRINAGAR: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz chaired a meeting of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Srinagar for Route Planning for the proposed Electric Bus service in Srinagar City.

The Deputy Commissioner who is the also chairman of RTA Srinagar directed the concerned Officers to prepare a comprehensive plan regarding finalizing routes and Stations for Electric Buses. He also asked for mapping of Charging stations for the electric buses.

The DC also asked the officers of line Departments to place all necessary preparations for Trial Run of Electric Buses.

He further directed the officers to roll out an effective action plan for successful operation of electric buses.

The DC directed the Regional Transport Officer to conduct an exercise with consultation with SRTC, Traffic Police and other concerned for finalizing an efficient and effective route plan in wake of the observation raised in the meeting so that better traffic management system is implemented to overcome the traffic issues in the City.

Senior Superintendent of Traffic Javed Koul, Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Srinagar, Athar Amir Khan, Regional Transport Officer, Kashmir, Sajid Yahya Naqash, Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Khurshid Ahmad Shah, SDM East, Owais Mushtaq, General Manager JKRTC and other concerned were present in the meeting.
