Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir’s coronavirus caseload increased to 3,39,124 on Tuesday as 134 more people tested positive for the infection, while the death toll climbed to 4,500 with two more fatalities, officials said.
Of the fresh cases, 103 were from the Kashmir and 31 from the Jammu division of the union territory, they said.
Srinagar district recorded the highest number of new cases at 44, followed by 26 in Baramulla district.
The two fresh fatalities were also reported from Kashmir Valley, officials said.
They said 147 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals in the last 24 hours, including 115 from Kashmir and 32 from Jammu division.
There are 50 mucormycosis (black fungus) cases in the union territory. No fresh case has been reported since last evening.
On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 43,765 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to 1,73,48,551.
According to the bulletin, out of 3,39,124 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 1,427 active positive cases across J&K including 1,102 in Kashmir and 325 in Jammu division, while as 3,33,197 persons have recovered and 4,500 have died – 2,310 in Kashmir and 2,190 in Jammu division.
