COVID-19 claims 3 more lives in J&K, 119 new coronavirus cases reported

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Monday recorded 119 fresh coronavirus cases that took its infection tally to 3,38,990, while three more fatalities pushed the death toll to 4,498, officials said.

Of the fresh cases, 93 were from the Kashmir and 26 from the Jammu division of the union territory, they said.

Srinagar district recorded the highest number of fresh cases at 48, followed by 20 in Jammu district.

Three COVID deaths were also reported in the last 24 hours – two from Kashmir and one from Jammu division, they said.

They also said 215 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals, 131 from Kashmir and including 84 from Jammu division.

The number of mucormycosis (black fungus) cases in the union territory stands at 50, with one fresh case reported since last evening, they said.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 44,395 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to 1,73,10,568.

According to the bulletin, out of 3,38,990 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 1,442 active positive cases across J&K, including 1,116 in Kashmir and 326 in Jammu division, while as 3,33,050 persons have recovered and 4,498 have died – 2,308 in Kashmir and 2,190 in Jammu division.
