DG Horti inaugurates training course on fruit & vegetable preservation

SRINAGAR: The Director General (DG) Horticulture, Kashmir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat today inaugurated 06 months training course on fruit and vegetable preservation.

30 Candidates from different parts of the valley will be imparted training by the experts of the Departments on preservation of Fruits and vegetables.

On the occasion, the DG said that the Department is committed to promote the Horticulture sector in the valley by encouraging the youth to adopt new techniques for better livelihood. He said that such training courses would provide opportunities to the aspirants to generate employment not only for themselves but for others as well.

He further said that the youth should take part in these types of training courses for skill development. He also said that the Department will provide the trainees every possible help in establishing the units.

The DG instructed the Chief Canning and Processing Instructor, to impart training to the students through online as well as offline mode for the ease of trainees. He further instructed the CCI that he should let the trainees conduct visits of various already established units, to enable them get practical knowhow about them.

Chief Canning and Processing Instructor, Srinagar, Chief Horticulture Officer, Srinagar and other officers attended the inaugural ceremony.
