Jammu: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Raghav Langer on Sunday conducted an extensive tour of Akhnoor Sub division of district Jammu and chaired a public grievances redressal camp.

The Div Com was accompanied by ADDC Jammu, Chief Engineers of  Jal Shakti, senior functionaries of Social welfare, JPDCL, PWD, Horticulture Marketing planning, Agriculture, Health, and other sectoral officers.

DDC Member,  Bhalwal Bramana; BDC Chairperson Akhnoor, and a large number of people including PRIs and locals of Panchayats of Akhnoor, Khour, Jourian were present on the occasion.

The sarpanchs, locals put forth their demands seeking improved road connectivity, renovation of school buildings, health facilities, upgradation of Jal Shakti and Power infrastructure, minor mineral mining, check on land grabbing, pending payments of PMAY, land compensation, speedy completion of development projects.

The deputations also submitted a memorandum of demands to Div Com.

The Div Com gave a patient hearing to all the deputations, individuals and passed on the spot directions to the concerned officers for resolving the issues. He also assured the public/ PRIs that all their genuine demands would be redressed as per norms at the earliest.

The concerned officers also responded to the projected demands and apprised the public that most of projected issues were under consideration and would be resolved in a time bound manner.

The Div Com said that the public outreach programmes are being conducted to take the first-hand appraisal of the public grievances at their doorsteps so that plans and policies are formulated in consultation with the public and PRIs and the benefits of the Government initiatives percolate to the last beneficiary.

Dr Raghav Langer stressed upon the officers present to be proactive and responsive towards the public grievances and asked them to assert themselves in resolving the issues of public importance. He assured the people that all their genuine demands would be processed for early redressal. The Div Com issued on spot directions to the concerned departments for looking into all the issues raised by the public for an early redressal.

He asked the PRI representatives and Officers of concerned departments to work in tandem to achieve desired development targets.

The Divisional Commissioner reiterated that the HLG administration is fully committed towards transparent, accountable and corruption free governance. He lauded the role of public representatives in bringing forth the issues of public importance and providing full cooperation to the Government departments.
