Regional Director S&LR presides over mega sensitization programme

ANANTNAG: The Regional Director, Survey and Land Records (S&LR), Dr. Mohammad Hafiz Shah today visited Anantnag and presided over a daylong mega sensitization programme, here.

The programme was organized by Revenue Department Anantnag to sensitize the people, land owners about the Land Records Information System (LRIS), ‘Aapki Zameen Aapki Nigrani’ portal which is a unique initiative of Jammu and Kashmir Government under Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP).

In his address, the Regional Director appreciated and complimented the Revenue authorities for the zeal and zest they exhibited in completing process of scanning of these land records.

He emphasized that the portal provides a novel solution for people to access records at the click of a button. He said that updated jamabandi has been completed in 1254 villages of South Kashmir and the same will be updated on the portal.

He further reiterated that the portal has an embedded grievance mechanism and the public can raise issues related to record correction on the portal itself.

Shah impressed upon concerned officers to ensure vigorous Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign throughout the district to apprise and sensitize the people about LRIS. He said that access kiosks have been setup at Tehsil and Niabat levels and people should avail this facility.

On the occasion, Tehsildar Anantnag and Tehsildar Mattan apprised the visiting dignitary that the district administration has held camps for awareness generation in all tehsils. Further, people are also being familiarized with the system through public hearings, live demonstrations and during block diwas program.

During the programme an interactive session held and several questions and queries of people were answered.

The program was attended by field functionaries of Revenue department and members of civil society.

Another program was also held at SDM office Bijbehara. The Regional Director while addressing the gathering reiterated that more than 50 lakh Revenue records pertaining to South Kashmir have been uploaded on the portal. He said that people must avail this facility and share their feedback.

The gathering was attended by SDM Bijbehara, Tehsildar Bijbehara, field functionaries of Revenue department and members of civil society.
