Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 90 fresh COVID-19 cases on Friday, taking the infection count to 3,32,053 while no fatality due to the virus was reported from the union territory in the past 24 hours, officials said.

Of the fresh cases, 83 were from the Kashmir and seven from the Jammu division, the officials said.

They said Srinagar district recorded a maximum of 48 new cases, followed by 13 cases in Baramulla district.

The death toll from the pandemic remained unchanged at 4,432 as no fatality was reported in the past 24 hours.

Moreover, 81 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 69 from Kashmir and 12 from Jammu division in the last 24 hours, officials said.

The officials said the mucormycosis (black fungus) case count too remained unchanged at 49 as no fresh infection was reported in the UT.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 68,169 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K so far to 14,525,004.

According to the bulletin, out of 3,32,053 positive cases detected so far, currently there are 872 active positive cases across the UT including 764 in Kashmir and 108 in Jammu division, while as 3,26,749 persons have recovered and 4,432 have died – 2,256 in Kashmir and 2,176 in Jammu division.
