Srinagar: National Investigation Agency (NIA) today arrested four persons as it carried searches at 11 locations in different districts of Kashmir.

A spokesperson of NIA said that the sleuths of the investigation agency conducted searches at 11 locations in Srinagar, Pulwama, Kulgam and Baramulla Districts of Jammu and Kashmir and arrested four more accused persons in connection with the case RC-29/2021/NIA/DLI.

In Baramulla, the raids were conducted in two different villages Fatehgarh and Audora of Narvaw area.

Sources said house of  Arif Manzoor Sheikh of Fatehgarh and Hurriyat G activist Abdul Rashid Rather of Audora were searched.

The arrested persons have been identified as Suhail Ahmad Thokar r/o Kulgam; Kamran Ashraf Reshi r/o Hazratbal, Srinagar; Rayid Bashir r/o Srinagar and; Hanan Gulzar Dar r/o Srinagar.

“The case RC-29/2021/NIA/DLI relates to conspiracy for undertaking violent terrorist acts in J&K and other major cities, by cadres of proscribed terrorist organisations Laskhar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al Badr and similar other outfits and their affiliates including the Resistance Front (TRF), People Against Fascist Forces (PAFF) etc.,” said the spokesperson.

The spokesperson further said that NIA had registered the case on 10.10.2021 and initiated the investigation.

“Till now, 09 accused persons have been arrested in this case,” said the spokesperson, adding, searches conducted today have led to recovery and seizure of electronic devices and incriminating jehadi documents/ Posters etc.

“Preliminary investigation has revealed that the four accused persons arrested today are terror associates/OGWs of various proscribed terrorist organisations and have been providing logistical and material support to terrorists,” said the spokesperson, adding, further investigation in the case continues.
