Jammu: Apni Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari has expressed grief over the death of Army Jawans in an encounter in Surankote, Poonch.

“We express our sympathy with the family members of the martyred soldiers who laid down their lives for the nation. Their supreme sacrifice will always be remembered,” Bukhari added.

He was speaking at the joining programme organised at Apni Party Office in presence of the provincial leadership.

On his occasion, many Panches, Sarpanches, social activists from Samba District, and Advocate Vikram Rathore along with 50 people from Jammu joined Apni Party.

Welcoming the educated class and elected PRIs into the Party, Bukhari said that the Party has been able to establish its strong base in Jammu’s plains in a short period of time.

“The joining of the educated class into the Party is a welcome step. The people have shown their faith in the Party’s policies and agenda which advocates unity and equal development of both the regions,” he said.

“We believe the political parties have failed to fulfill what they had promised to the people. They sold dreams to the people which could not materialize. However, the Apni Party believes in telling the truth to the people and leading them towards peace and prosperity,” said Bukhari.

At the same time, three sarpanches along with several naib sarpanches joined the Party in presence of Altaf Bukhari. Prominent among those include Sarpanch Keso Manhasa, Kuldeep Verma, Sarpanch, Khanpur, Champa Devi, Sarpanch Nanga, Bimla Devi, Naib Sarpanch, Avtal, Manjit Singh senior social activist Dr Jasbir Singh along with supporters from Samba also joined Apni Party.

While welcoming the PRIs into the party fold, he said that the panchayat raj system still needs to be strengthened on the ground and the elected should be given due respect by the administration.

“It is highly condemnable how the administration ignored the PRIs following which they resigned in Ramban district. The elected PRIs are the basic foundations of democratic structure from the village level and the officials responsible for ignoring them should be held accountable,” he said.

“The PRIs works at the grassroots level and barring them from giving a representation to the visiting Union Minister is an unfortunate act which is condemnable. The Apni Party stands with the PRIs and for the protection of their rights,” he added.
