“The contractual engagement of the retired engineers shall be made after inviting applications from the eligible retired engineers by making the advertisement through the electronic/print media to this effect,” read the order.

The department has given its go-ahead to the directors after Administrative Council of the Union Territory approved the proposal during its meeting held on August 14. The Administrative Council is the highest-decision making body of the UT and comprises Lieutenant Governor and his advisors, who are exercising ministerial powers.

As per the terms and conditions governing the engagements, the period of contract shall be one year which shall be further extendable in case of satisfactory performance and requirement.

“Contractual engagements are liable to be terminated by the competent authority without assigning any reason, whatsoever, at any time,” the guidelines state.

The guidelines said that the JEs would be entitled to monthly remuneration of Rs 30000, while AEs and AEEs would respectively get Rs 40000 and Rs 45000 respectively.

The maximum age-limit for the applicants shall be 62 years as on January 01, 2022. (With inputs from KNO)
