Srinagar: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Junior Engineer Electric Division-II, JPDCL, Jammu (J&K), for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 5,000.
According to a statement, a case was registered on a complaint against Junior Engineer, Electric Division-II, JPDCL, Jammu. It was alleged that the accused was demanding bribe from the complainant for updating the details of newly installed electricity meter in the records, and for not charging electricity bill at flat rate.
CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 from the complainant. Searches were also conducted at the premises of the accused at Jammu.
