Farooq Khan hails Maharaja Hari Singh’s Reforms at “Samajik Nyaya Diwas”

Jammu: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor Farooq Khan hailed Maharaja Hari Singh’s Reforms at Samajik Nyaya Diwas, organised on the occasion of Maharaja Hari Singh’s 126th Birth Anniversary today.

Speaking on the occasion, where Advisor was the Chief Guest, he congratulated Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) for celebrating the birthday of Late Maharaja Hari Singh Ji and appealed people at large to work for promotion of Dogri Language, Culture and Rich Heritage of this Duggar Land.

Colourful cultural programmes were presented in the function. A Dogri Song was presented by Dogra Degree College Bari Brahmana, another Dogri item was presented by Rich Harvest School Bari Brahmana, a Cultural item by famous musician Ravi and a Dogri Bakh- by renowned Dogri singer Asha Kesar.

Earlier, Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister, and President, Dogra Sadar Sabha, said that Maharaja Hari Singh’s declaration in his coronation speech, to provide Justice to all irrespective of caste, creed or faith, which was subsequently backed by the reforms and the legal framework for Social Justice introduced by him was a sterling testimony to his people-centric ideology and policies which are remembered by the people in all parts of the erstwhile Princely State of Jammu and Kashmir to this day.

In his welcome address Colonel Karan Singh Jamwal gave a brief overview of the working of the DSS and DSK. Others who spoke on the occasion included Maj. Gen. G.S. Jamwal AVSM, G.A. Khawaja Addl. Gen. Sec. DSS, Ajay Khajuria, Retd DC.

Prominent among those who attended included Brig. M.S. Jamwal, Col. V.K. Sahi VrC, Maj. Gen. Sunita Kapoor, Jagmohan Sharma, Uma Katal, Samar Dev Singh Charak, Syed Amanat Ali Shah, Ramesh Gupta President Central Mahajan Sabha, Seema Sehgal and Madan Rangila.
