One dead, two injured in Reasi road accident

Srinagar: Two sisters were killed and two other people injured after the car they were traveling in skidded off the road and rolled down into a gorge near Zero Point Zojila on Srinagar-Leh highway on Sunday.

Reports said that the car (JK16B-1970) was on way from Kangan to Drass when it met with the accident resulting in grievous injuries to Taheena Parveen, 28, and Tahira Bano, 18, daughters of Nisar Ahmad Lone of Drass, at present residing in Kajpora village of Kangan. They father Nisar Ahmad Lone, 58, son of Abdul Rahman, and the driver of the vehicle Reyaz Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Rashid Mir of Kajpora were injured in the accident.

Police said that the injured were shifted to Primary Health Centre Sonamarg where the two siblings were declared dead by the doctors.

The injured were later referred to a Srinagar hospital for specialized treatment.

Police have registered a case in this regard.
