The order stated that upon the placement of services of 74 junior scale KAS officers of 2019 batch at the disposal of department of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj by the GAD, transfer and posting of these officers is order with immediate effect.

“Consequent upon placement of services of the seventy-four (74) Junior Scale KAS Officers of 2019 batch at the disposal of the Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj by the General Administration Department vide Government Order No. 806-JK (GAD) of 2021 Dated: 31.08.2021, for their further adjustment and posting as the Block Development Officers,  the following transfers and postings are hereby ordered with immediate effect,” reads the order.

Pertinently, several panchayat blocks in Jammu and Kashmir were functioning without BDOs as the post were vacant since past several months.

Meanwhile, government sources said the transfer and posting of these officers have been made for the smooth functioning of panchayat blocks and to empower the Panchayat Raj institutions in Jammu and Kashmir.
