J&K reports 1,144 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir’s COVID-19 tally increased to 3,25,830 on Saturday with 116 fresh cases, while the death toll climbed to 4,410 as one more person succumbed to the disease, officials said.

Of the fresh cases, 85 were reported from the Kashmir division and 31 from the Jammu division of the union territory, they said.

Srinagar district recorded the highest number of fresh cases at 47, followed by 14 each in Pulwama and Doda districts while the single fresh fatality was reported from the Kashmir Valley, officials said.

They also said 168 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 142 from Kashmir and 26 from Jammu division in the past 24 hours.

There are 45 mucormycosis (black fungus) cases in the union territory. No fresh case has been reported since last evening, they said.

According to the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus (Covid-19), out of 3,25,830 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 1,327 active positive cases across the UT, while as 3,20,093 persons have recovered and 4,410 have died – 2,244 in Kashmir and 2,166 in Jammu division.
