Srinagar: Director General (DG) Horticulture Kashmir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, today visited Budgam to review the Capex and other Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSSs) besides, the functioning of departmental farms, nurseries and various departmental activities.
While reviewing the progress made under departmental scheme, the DG instructed the officers to ensure cent percent expenditure and warned that any laxity will entail strict action.
He also urged the field functionaries to make frequent visits to the field and provide the growers with latest technical knowhow, besides giving vide publicity to different Departmental schemes.
Later, the DG visited the Fruit and Vegetable Processing Centre, Budgam. He expressed his satisfaction over the work being carried out and as an acknowledgement felicitated Manager-cum-Chemist, Budgam with a letter of appreciation for the excellent work.
He further added that the Centre should also be used to impart training to the youth particularly women folk on canning and processing of fruit and vegetables, in order to enable them to generate employment opportunities for themselves.
