3 district hospitals of J&K ranked top performers by NITI Aayog

Srinagar: The NITI Aayog has ranked three district hospitals of Jammu and Kashmir as top performers for the year 2018-19 on the basis of already identified indicators.

District Hospital Baramulla has been ranked first in availability of support services and availability of diagnostic testing services. Against the availability of support services and diagnostic testing services proposed for district hospitals, District Hospital Baramulla had all the requisite services, an official press release informed.

It said District Hospital Bandipora has been ranked first in bed occupancy rate. District Hospital Bandipora had 100 percent bed occupancy for the year.

Similarly, JNLM Hospital of Srinagar has been ranked first in C-Section rate, against the total number of deliveries performed in a year including normal and assisted deliveries and C Sections, the press release said.

NITI Aayog, New Delhi has requested for documenting these best practices of each of these top performing hospitals so that same can be replicated in the other healthcare institutions of the country.

Atal Dulloo, Additional Chief Secretary, Health & Medical Education department complimented the staff and the administration of the hospitals which have brought laurels to the Union Territory and informed that such best practices shall also be implemented in the other healthcare institutions of the Union Territory, the press release said.
