Pune Platform for COVID-19 Response reaches out to Kashmir

Kupwara: Pune Platform for COVID-19 Response (PPCR) is a volunteer group of members of civil society who came together to minimize the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak in Pune city and surroundings reached out to people Kashmir and dedicated oxygen to ‘Save Youth Save Future’- a voluntary Non-Government Organization.

Extending gratitude to PPCR, Chairman SYSF Wajahat Farooq Bhat said that there has an urgent requirement of oxygen concentrators as patients faced grave hardships during pandemic crises due to the shortage of oxygen.

“We are highly grateful to PPCR for their timely support and these oxygen concentrators will save life of poor, needy and hapless patients who run from pillar to post for oxygen concentrators,” he added.

Sudhir Mehta, Lead and Coordinator, PPCR and President Mahratta Chamber of Commerce Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) said that through coordinated action, the multi-stakeholder group, aptly named, Pune Platform for COVID-19 Response (PPCR), exemplified meta-leadership abilities to cope up with the crisis.

“Supporting the healthcare establishments across major hotspots of India was the need of the hour and the response we received has been extremely gratifying as we were able to raise sufficient funds and support from industries, businesses, philanthropists, and individuals,” he said.

Pune Platform for COVID-19 Response is a classic example of a people-led initiative or ‘Jan Andolan’, led by people, for the people and supported by people through successful collaborations, coordinated actions and direct communication.

PPCR is one of the largest industry-led initiatives to support the healthcare infrastructure and tackle the pertaining oxygen shortages. These oxygen concentrators and BiPaPs were donated to hospitals and institutions to save precious lives.
