Srinagar: Sabiya Mehraj, a government teacher from Srinagar, has thanked Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for taking her suggestion into consideration on education reforms in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.

In the 4th episode of “Awaam ki Awaaz” radio programme, the Lieutenant Governor had welcomed the suggestions on reforms in the education sector, observing that all the suggestions were very interesting and would have far-reaching impacts.

In his address, Lt Governor Sinha had also mentioned some good inputs including one from Sabiya Mehraj from Srinagar who among others had suggested various innovative measures in the education sector and vocational training, besides making computer education compulsory in the schools.

“It is a matter of great pleasure that my name has been mentioned by LG Manoj Sinha in the programme Awaam Ki Awaaz and taken favorable note of her suggestion for the upliftment of education system in Jammu and Kashmir in this period of covid,” said Mehraj, who is currently teaching at Govt Higher Secondary School Palpora Srinagar.

“The Lt Governor had also assured that the administration was fully committed to making progressive changes in the field of education with a comprehensive approach, to make it more skill-oriented, facilitating employability and entrepreneurship. The concerned departments will take necessary action on all these suggestions,” she said.

“It’s really a matter of great pleasure that my humble suggestion has been taken into consideration by you (LG Manoj Sinha). Thank you very much indeed,” she added.
