DG IMPARD chairs valedictory function of training prog on RTI Act

DG inaugurates training courses at IMPA Sgr

Srinagar: Director General J&K Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development (IMPARD), Saurabh Bhagat, today chaired the valedictory function of training programme on RTI Act.

The training programme titled “Best practices in implementation of RTI Act” which started on Monday (July 12).

18 officers including PIOs/APIOs and First Appellate Authority from the Health Department and Associated Hospitals attended the training programme.

Dr JA Jabeen, Associate Professor coordinated the training programme.

In his valedictory address Director General stressed on the importance of Right to Information Act and presently the Central RTI Act is implemented in the whole UT of Jammu and Kashmir. He praised the contribution of Wajahat Habibullah who was appointed as the first Information Commissioner of the India and who belongs to J&K cadre.

Former Information Commissioner of Jammu and Kashmir, G R Sofi also delivered a lecture on the RTI Act and discussed the important cases with the trainees.

Saurabh Bhagat called upon the trainees to gain maximum benefit from the training courses so that the expertise imparted through these modules would be used to further to streamline the administrative skills.

He further informed that the Government is trying to give exposure to two thousand officers at National and International level in various fields through training programmes.
