Srinagar: With 308 fresh cases, Jammu and Kashmir’s cumulative COVID-19 tally climbed to 3,15,298 on Tuesday, while six more fatalities pushed the death toll due to the viral disease to 4,316 in the Union Territory, officials said.

Of the fresh cases, 209 were from the Kashmir Valley and 99 were from the Jammu division, they added.

The officials said Srinagar district recorded the highest number of 84 fresh cases, followed by 29 in Baramulla district.

The death toll due to the viral disease has climbed to 4,316 in Jammu and Kashmir with six patients – four from Kashmir and two from Jammu division — succumbing to it in the last 24 hours.

The officials said there are 29 confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) in the Union Territory as no fresh case was reported since Monday evening.

Moreover, 493 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged from various hospitals including 344 from Kashmir and 149 from Jammu division, they said.

Besides this, 84.46 percent of the population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across Jammu and Kashmir, the officials said.

According to the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus (Covid-19), out of 3,15,298 positive cases recorded cumulatively thus far, currently there are 4,805 are active positive cases across J&K, while as 3,06,177 have recovered and 4,316 have died — 2214 in Kashmir and 2,102 in Jammu division.

The bulletin further said that out of 99,07,016 test results available, 95,91,718 samples have tested negative till today.

Till date 24,14,634 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 17,691 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by the government, 4,805 in isolation and 2,18,412 in home surveillance while as 21,69,410 persons have completed their surveillance period, the bulletin informed.
