Srinagar: Police in Kulgam have arrested a person on charges of domestic violence from Zangalpora area of district Kulgam.
According to a police spokesman, a woman approached Police Station Devsar Saturday in a critical condition seeking help after she has been allegedly thrashed by her husband.
A case (FIR no. 37/2021) under relevant sections of law was registered and the injured woman was sent to District Hospital Kulgam for treatment.
A video uploaded by the woman on social media was also received by the police, and subsequently her husband was arrested, police said, adding further investigation is in progress.
