Srinagar: Police on Friday said that a youth from Chattabal area of the city has been arrested for his fake Facebook post, which had jeopardized the life of a local medical shop owner.
Addressing a press conference, SSP Srinagar Sandeep Choudhary said that a BCA graduate from Chattabal had posted some fake news about at medical shop owner on Facebook, reported news agency KNO.
He said that there were no facts in the news posted by the netizen, and after proper verification and investigation the youth was arrested.
The SSP also said that people should refrain from such activities as the police have tools and technology to trace all the anonymous social media users and any such activity will not be tolerated.
