Srinagar, April 18: Few days back Srinagar police circulated news item in print and social media regarding the identification of truck involved in hit & run case on Chanapora bye-pass near Haryana marbles in which one person had lost his life.
A police spokesman said that the photographs of the truck involved in the case were obtained from the CCTV footage and accordingly circulated for identification and help was sought from the general public.
The circulation of news item along with photographs of truck proved very useful and finally led to the identification of the said truck with registration no JK13D 5118 and was accordingly seized and driver was arrested, said the spokesman.
In this regard case FIR 49/2018 under section 279, 337, 304-A RPC stands registered in Police Station Sadder and investigation is going on.
Srinagar police has thanked the general public and media for their co-operation in nabbing the accused, the spokesman said.
