Chief Secretary chairs SLSC meet; directs for submitting UCs in time

JAMMU, APRIL 17 – Chief Secretary B.B Vyas today chaired the meeting of State Level Sanctioning Committee (SLSC) to approve the annual action plan 2018-19 under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY).

Principal Secretary, Finance Navin K Choudhary, Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce Shailendra Kumar, Commissioner Secretary, Power Development Department Hirdesh Kumar Singh, Secretary Agriculture, Showkat Beigh, Secretary, RDD Sheetal Nanda, Secretary, Floriculture Talat Parvez, Secretary, PHE, I&FC Department M. Raju, DG, Sericulture Department Mir Tariq Ali, DG-CSS/BADP, Planning Department Tariq Ahmad, Director, Agriculture HK Razdan, Director, CAD Jammu Jatinder Singh, Director, Floriculture BabilaRakwal, Director, Horticulture   Anuradha Gupta, Chief Engineer, PHE Jammu Ashok Gandotra, Chief Engineer, I&FC Jammu KKMangotra, Chief Engineer, RTIC Jammu RK Gandotra, Chief Engineer, I&FC Kashmir M.M Shahnawaz and Project Officer CAD Jammu Mudassir Yaqoob attended the meeting while as other officers from Agriculture, PHE, I&FC departments from Kashmir division joined the meeting through video conference.

The meeting discussed various components of the PMKSY including Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme (AIBP), Har Khet koPani (HKKP), Per Drop More Crop (PDMC) and Watershed Development.

It was informed in the meeting that Command Area Development works of 99 prioritized AIBP projects are to be funded through NABARD under long term irrigation fund. Out of these, there prioritized ongoing projects are going on in the state including Tral Lift, Prakachik Khown canal and Rajpora lift irrigation scheme.

The Chief Secretary directed the concerned to prepare a list of canals to be taken under Major and Minor components of AIBP. He asked them to prepare the DPRs for the new projects and submit the same in time.

It was further informed that eleven schemes are going on in the state under Har Khet KoPaani while as Per Drop More Crop has two sub-components including Micro Irrigation and other components. The Chief Secretary asked the officers to give due importance to the awareness and capacity building under the scheme.

It was informed in the meeting that 159 schemes are going on in the state under watershed development component of PMKSY for effective management of run-off water and improved soil and moisture conservation activities by way of ridge area treatment, drainage line treatment, rain water harvesting, in-situ moisture conservation and other allied activities on watershed basis.

The Chief Secretary directed for submitting the Utilization Certificates (UCs) of the works done to the Centre as soon as possible for timely release of first installment of funds for the current financial year.
