Srinagar: Dr. Huma Afzal Mirza, Registrar, Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh (SMGS) Hospital has thanked the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha for reaching out to her through monthly Radio Talk show ‘Awaam ki Awaaz’ and recognizing her work and efforts in fighting the pandemic COVID-19.

Recently, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha dedicated the monthly Radio talk show to corona warriors who are at the forefront in the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, interacted with them and appreciated their efforts in the current situation while putting their own lives at risk.

During the programme, the LG had shared some of the inspiring stories of covid warriors and responsible citizens, saluted their spirit and commended them for their dedication towards human service in these tough times.

Dr. Huma Mirza who is Registrar at SMGS, Hospital said that it was highly encouraging and inspiring to see that LG Manoj Sinha appreciated her in radio talk show Awaam ki Awaaz, recognized and appreciated her work related to ongoing COVID-19. “I am highly grateful to Lieutenant Governor for appreciating my few words which I expressed on the basis of my knowledge and observation as a Covid Warrior and also my work related to Covid-19,” Dr. Huma Mirza said.

She highlighted that it was a novel step of Administration under Lieutenant Governor to interact with doctors and paramedical staff and ask them direct feedback and suggestions related to COVID-19. “It was an innovative step to interact with covid warriors and is highly motivational and inspiring for all of us that our work is being appreciated by LG himself,” Dr. Huma said.

 

Dr. Huma adds that serving society with a smile is in the ethics of medical professionals and a part of our duty. “In this war, though our lives are at risk but lives of sufferers are always given priority,” she says.

Dr. Huma in her message regarding COVID appeals to the general public that if you find any symptoms contact any nearest health facility as early testing reduces mortality rate. She advised people to maintain covid appropriate behavior, follow SOPs and guidelines which are prime ways of saving oneself from this virus.

Dr. Huma further appeals to the general public to get vaccinated and don’t believe in rumours as vaccination reduces chances of severity of infection and hopefully we will win this battle against covid and the world will return to normal again.
