Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Saturday urged the administration to rise up to the exigencies thrown by the spike of COVID-19 infections and ensure the availability of all Critical COVID-19 care drugs, Oxygen beds, Vaccines and testing kits across all health facilities in Tangmarg.

“I have been receiving various SOS calls about the unavailability of vaccines at various health facilities across the segment. The problem of shortage of critical care drugs, and other life saving equipment including oxygen has surfaced in the segment which is mostly mountainous. It would have been much better if the vaccination teams are deputed to the various outlying areas of the segment in order to ensure the universal vaccination programme. Further, I impressed upon the district administration Baramulla and divisional administration Kashmir to ensure ample supply of COVID care drugs, vaccines and other life-saving equipment across the segment,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mir expressed profound sorrow and grief over the death of two minor girls, who lost their lives after coming under a pillar that collapsed on them in Katipora Tangmarg of District Baramulla. “The unfortunate incident happened when the two minor girls Urfi Jaan, and Soliha were playing in the courtyard and a pillar broke and collapsed on them. Both died on spot.  The incident is heart-wrenching. I express my sympathies with the bereaved families, pray for strength to them at this difficult time. I also pray for peace to the deceased in the highest echelons of Jannah,” he said.
