Srinagar: The Government of India has revealed that 3,84,700 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were allocated to the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory through the Government of India for the first fortnight of May.

According to an affidavit filed by the Union Ministry for Health and Family Welfare in the Supreme Court, 3,84,700 doses of the Covishield were allocated to the newly carved out UT by the Central government for the first fortnight of the current month.

The affidavit reveals that 1,84,950 more doses of Covishield were available for J&K for procurement through “other than Government of India channel” in May 2021.

The Ministry also stated that 20800 vials of Remdesivir were allocated to J&K UT on May 01 for the period between April 21 to May 09. Against this, 16038 vials of Remdesivir were supplied to J&K from April 21 to May 07, it states.

According to the affidavit, J&K was allocated 42,000 vials as per the latest allocation dated May 07, 2021 for the period between April 21 to May 16.

The Ministry also revealed that J&K was allocated 60 vials of Tocilizumab as per latest allocation dated April 30, 2021 while as 50 vials of the injection were supplied to the UT against requisition from April 27 to May 07. (With inputs from KNO)
