Srinagar: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Kashmir unit on Wednesday hit streets to protest the killing of several of their party workers during the violence allegedly unleashed by TMC in West Bengal after the election results were announced there.

Shouting slogans against Mamata Banerjee, who was elected as West Bengal CM for third time, dozens of BJP workers and activists held a sit-in protest outside party head office at Jawahar Nagar here this morning against the killing of BJP workers.

Protesters had also carried placards in their hands reading “Mamata stop political terrorism, stop killing innocent BJP workers in West Bengal”.

“We have gathered here to protest the violence unleashed by Mamata Banerjee led TMC in West Bengal in which 16 BJP workers were killed’, their women were raped, and houses torched. Whatever is happening in West Bengal is highly condemnable,” said BJP state spokesman, Altaf Thakur.

Thakur said the political violence unleashed by TMC in West Bengal will not deter BJP as the party has pledged to free West Bengal from corruption.
