Among others Party General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Advocate Shameema Firdous, Irfan Shah, Sharief Ud Din Shariq, Showkat Ahmed Mir, Peer Afaq, Salman Ali Sagar, Ahsan Pardesi, Er. Sabiya Qadri, Syed Rafiq Shah, Salam Ud Din Bajad, Mudassir Shahmiri, Ghulam Nabi Bhat were also present in the prayer meeting.

Addressing the Functionaries, Sagar said, “The Party and the people of Jammu and Kashmir need Dr Farooq Sahib to guide them in the struggle for the restoration of their abridged rights walking on the path of truth and non-violence. People want him back on his feet to struggle against attempts which are being made for creating an atmosphere of discrimination in society. We need him to champion the cause of underprivileged, and deprived. We need him to provide foresight to the efforts of numerous party men and women to work for the restoration of democracy and protection of the secular and pluralistic visage of Jammu and Kashmir. A Peacenik, his calls for peace and harmony were never borne out of fear but pragmatism: a trait, which is rarely perceptible in the genetic makeup of most of the politicians in south-East Asia.  I earnestly pray with all my humility to Almighty to put our beloved leader on the path of recovery. God willingly, he will bounce back and lead us in our struggle to bequeath future generations a peaceful, prosperous, and stable future. May Almighty accept our prayers and put our leader on the path of fast recovery,” he said.

Party’s Additional General Secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal in his address said that Dr Sahib was fashioned in the heroic mold of Madre Meharban and Baba-e-Qoum Hazrat Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah. He didn’t confine himself to the mould in which he was brought up, his life and politics were fashioned by the experience he have had in every decade. A boon companion to politicians cutting across party lines, a jovial person possessing abilities emblematic of an ordinary Kashmiri, he connects with milling crowds, who also relate to him. His personality is a heady mix of frankness, and candidness. We need him; the people of Jammu, Kashmir, Chenab, Pirpanjal, and Kargil look forward to his speedy recovery. I pray that almighty comforts him and puts him back on his feet with renewed vigor, vitality and enthusiasm to lead us to safer shores. People cutting across political ideologies are praying for him at this time gives an insight about his political stature and substance of his vision for Jammu and Kashmir, and the country in general. He is the only leader who enjoys mass-based popularity across J&K. An unquestioned leader of masses, his politics is all inclusive and shorn of all prejudices making him a unique, unparalleled and true representative voice of J&K. I take this opportunity to thank all in the country and abroad for their get-well wishes and prayers. I also pray to Almighty to accept our prayers,” he said.
